Continuing on the heels of the Grand Shmittah Congress with leading Torah scholars, a warm and productive meeting was held this week on the same topic in Moshav Porat.

Yossi Greenspan spoke on behalf of Ayelet Hashachar, and Avner Salamah delivered words of support from the Keren HaShviis (Shmittah Fund). Yakir Yochanana, general secretary of the Keren HaShviis, encouraged farmers to observe the laws of the Sabbatical year (Shmittah) for the good of the nation and for their own benefit.

The positive atmosphere and excitement of each farmer at being involved in such a venture provided all participants with a feeling of great achdut (unity), as well as joy at working towards a common goal.
