In 1997, Shlomo Raanan established “Ayelet Hashachar,” a nonprofit organization working towards creating a united society of religious and non-religious Jews in Israel.

In “Ayelet Hashachar,” we see every person for who s/he his, regardless of his or her religious practice or background. We have developed a platform that allows right to meet left and work together to bridge the social gap dividing Israel.

The Israeli public is facing a growing problem. Israeli society is being torn apart by a lack of understanding of what it means to be religious, what it means to be secular, and how all of us belong to the same people. Sadly, the average Israeli often looks at his fellow religious Jew with a measure of contempt and hatred, while on the other hand, the religious Jew cannot be open to the ways of his secular neighbor.

People all over are reaching out in search of meaning and guidance. Brotherly love, respect and acceptance are a few of the main issues we promote in “Ayelet Hashachar,” as we are here to fill a need and remind the Jewish people of our common history and roots. We work hard to break the stereotypes on both ends of the spectrum.

מאות אנשים השתתפו בביקורו של הראשון לציון הגאון רבי יצחק יוסף שליט"א בעיר קרית טבעון – אירוע שאורגן על ידי ארגון 'איילת השחר'. הרב נשא שתי דרשות – האחת בכפר הנוער רמת הדסה בפני קרוב ל-300 אנשים, ובהמשך במרכז  הרוחני 'איילת השחר' לפני מאות משתתפים.

ביקורו של הרב הראשי מהווה נדבך נוסף בפעילות הענפה המתקיימת במקום למעלה מ-15 שנים על ידי אברכים המתגוררים במקום, והרב שהתרגש כל כך, סיפר על הביקור יוצא הדופן בדרשתו השבועית בבית הכנסת 'היזדים' שבירושלים, המועברת למאות אלפי בני אדם ברחבי  הארץ ובעולם.

 

 

Yeshuv Nofit celebrated Hachnasat Sefer Torah with over 400 participants  - Yishar Koach for the support and the unity. 

 

Last Thursday after a visit to Kibbutz Dganya to take part in a special Bar Mitzvah I was asked to help and build a Synagogue dedicated to my dear friend Shai Shoshani Zt"l. On the way back I went to daven Minchah in Moshav Yavniel. As I entered the shul in Yavniel I noticed a sign that Mrs Adaa Rothschild Zt"l donated the funds to build the building. At that moment I thought of the many Kibbutzim and Yeshuvim that ask for my assistance to build a shul in their community - The melody of "If I was a rich man ...(A Rothschild)" came to mind.

במהלך יום חמישי האחרון לאחר ביקור בקיבוץ דגניה א והשתתפות בבר מצווה מרגשת עד דמעות, נתבקשתי לסייע בהקמת בית כנסת לזיכרו של חברי היקר שי שושני זצ"ל. בדרכי הביתה נכנסתי לתפילה מנחה בבית הכנסת ביבניאל. בכניסה לבית כנסת יש מצבת שיש שבית כנסת זה נבנה מכספי תרומתה של עדה רוטשילד המנוחה לרגע נזכרתי בעשרות הקיבוצים "המבקשים עזרתי בבנית בתי כנסת ועלה בראשי הניגון של " לו הייתי רוטשילד
