Our commitment
Ayelet Hashachar believes that everyone, including people with disabilities and older adults, should be able to browse this website, learn, and take part in our activities independently and on an equal basis. We keep working to improve the accessibility of the site.
Accessibility level
The site aims to meet the requirements of Israeli Standard 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0) at level AA, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 5773-2013.
The site underwent an accessibility audit on 5 November 2026.
Adjustments made
- Full keyboard navigation, with a clearly visible focus marker on links and buttons.
- The site respects the operating system's "reduce motion" setting: when it is on, motion effects and animation are turned off.
- The language and direction of each page are declared (Hebrew right-to-left, English left-to-right), so screen readers pronounce the text correctly.
- The buttons of the home page slider have labels for screen readers.
- The site adapts to different screen sizes, and text can be enlarged with the browser, or by pinching on mobile devices.
Known limitations
- Content that comes from external services (for example YouTube videos, Facebook plug-ins, and the PayPal and Nedarim Plus donation pages) is subject to the accessibility of those services.
- Older articles may contain images without a text description, and downloadable files (such as PDFs) that are not accessible.
- Some videos may have no captions.
