Megillah Readings & the Pandemic: Many Different Times in Each Location!
To comply with the tight restrictions limiting the number of people per gathering, and the place for the gatherings, AH is sending groups of gobayim/experienced “leiners” to each Kibbutz/Yishuv so that all the residents can hear Megillat Esther read! Because AH anticipated the Israeli government’s potential Purim lock-down/curfew, our Chavruta program has taught over 150 people to read and understand the Megillah so when they hear it read it will be so much more meaningful to them!

Expanding our Presence in Shlomi
Shlomi is a town on the Lebanese border-one of the most beautiful spots in Israel. 15 AH families have settled there, all 2nd generation baalei teshuva-whose parents were baalei teshuva; tremendously committed to learning and spreading Torah. They provide tremendous hisook to the community--a fount of Torah knowledge and knowledge of Yiddushkeit. Because their parents were baalei teshuva, these families identify with the residents’ struggles to reconnect to their religious roots. It is not easy for our families, but we/they understand the potential for growth and take their tasks very seriously! G-d willing, this coming year we hope bring 20 more families to Shlomi. The Galiel is very important part of Israel. Currently, Arabs outnumber Jews. We hope to help in reversing those numbers. Shlomi, a masorati (very traditionally Jewish) town offers jobs and housing providing a strong future for newly marrieds and/or young families. May Hashem bless our efforts to grow!

AH has built 50 Shuls. Now “Bruchot Habaot “ We Welcome our Nashim
AH has begun renovating the Ezras Nashim (women’s section in a Schul). Our goal is to make them warm and welcoming, attracting women to daven with the Tzibor. We already started renovations in two communities. Our “Ezras Nashim Eem” (“ENE”) a/k/a bruchot habaot, committees are composed of AH women volunteers who partner with their counterparts on each Kibbutz/Yishuv to discuss, design, plan and help execute the renovations. G-d willing, this very special partnership will help strengthen each community’s connection to Torah and Yiddushkeit.

Hachnasas Orachim, Western Galilee Medical Center, Nahariya
Imagine accompanying your relative to the hospital, but finding no accommodations for Shabbos! That’s exactly what happened in Naharya. Our Rav Glumbak who lives on Yishuv Ben Ami (located near the Western Galilee Medical Center—the largest government hospital in the Galilee region) discovered relatives sleeping on park benches or in the Schul and subsisting on garaneem (sunflower seeds)! A year ago, we rented a guesthouse and have been hosting many, many relatives who finally had a place to stay and food to eat! Sometimes patients were discharged only one hour before Shabbos began. Both the patients and their families stayed with us! Indeed our guests liked it so much they stayed after Shabbos ended. The need is so great that we are thinking about renting another unit. May Hashem bless our endeavors.

For our families throughout Israel, we provide tremendous learning opportunities, shiurim given by honored Rebbeim. Our families can “tune in,” at times of their choosing, through our website. Our Farmers told us: “Without Our Chavruta I would be able to Keep Shmita”
G-d willing, this coming year, 5782, will be a shmita year. We have held seminars in many Moshavim throughout Israel teaching over 500 farmers Hilchos Shmita. Many of the farmers who have learned shmita with their Chavruta are now keeping Shabbos. Further because this is our third cycle teaching shmita we have been fortunate to build more schuls, mikvaot, and Eruvin throught Israel. We’ve joined forces with Keren HaShviis to encourage and support our farmers to keep shmita. On Sunday, 21-Feb 2021, at Moshav AchiTov in central Israel we hosted 15 farmers 6 of who, G-d willing, committed to keeping shmita! We have doubled our chavrutas (our staff workers in chavrutas) to accommodate all the farmers who want to participate!

We can accomplish everything as long as we believe—have faith--
As long as we continuously strengthen our Emunah
Then we can go From Darkness to Light
Good things come only with the Greatest Patience and Persistence.
