Yom Kippur

A traditional Israeli Yom Kippur service in communities and kibbutzim, for anyone who wants to pray, including those who never have.

How it works

The community or kibbutz provides a prayer hall and lodging according to the number of participants. Ayelet Hashachar produces the entire service: a cantor who also blows the shofar, a Torah reader, prayer books, kippot and everything else. The team is matched to the community so that a common language forms. The activity is voluntary and free of charge.

Beyond one day

The programs extend to Rosh Hashanah and other holidays, with enrichment classes throughout the year. Every year tens of prayer minyanim take place on Yom Kippur and on other holidays across the country.
