Newsletter March 2013

As Purim started in Kfar Menachem, Shabbat had to end. Standing in the light of the Havdalah candle I felt the irony of my actions. Ayelet Hashachar works extremely hard to bring unity to our people and yet it seems that at times Havdallah  - meaning separating, can bring people together. The boy in the picture held the Havdallah candle for the first time in his life and this act of separation united him with our heritage and our Torah.

Purim Celebration in Ramat Zvi

Purim Celebration in Kfar Menachem

Purim Celebration in Tal-El

Ramat zvi celebrated Purim with a Megillah reading, Seudah, fun and games. The picture above tells the story of the joyful gathering that followed the Megilla reading.

Adults and Kids alike enjoyed the happy gathering and celebrations in Ramat Zvi.

While visiting Kfar Menachem after a Megillah reading, the kids enjoyed taking a closer look at the Megillah. For some this was the first time they were able to touch and feel a hand written Megilah.

Sharing these moments allow us to fill our hearts with motivation and accomplishment.

Tal - El celebrates with silly hats during the Purim Seudah. Kids and adults with costumes joined the Seudat Mitzvah.

Yishar Koach for celebrating with joy.

Project in Need:

Pesach Food for Families in Need

During the coming weeks all of us will be working extra hard to clean our house while preparing for Pesach. The talk of the day for most, is how to remove the Chametz from this or that surface, but for some the questions are much harder since they are unsure where their next meal will come from, let alone their Pesach food which is twice as expensive. Help Ayelet Hashachar feed those families and ease their worries. We are looking to collect $20,000.

Please help us, help others.

Please visit our website www.ayelethashachar.org or respond to this email to make your donation.

Be a part of the army of Mitzvah Doers from Ayelet Hashachar!!!

Hachnasat Sefer Torah in Kibbutz Yad Chanah   Mr Kurt Rothschild Joins Ayelet Hashachar

Kibbutz Yad Chanah was established in 1950 in Emek Hefer. This Kibbutz is a communist kibbutz and after many years of common work with Ayelet Hashachar, we were happy to celebrate the Hachnasat Sefer Torah with the community.

Young and old shared in the celebrations as the Torah was passed from hand to hand.

May we grow from strength to strength.

Rabbi Shlomo Raanan and the rest of the Ayelet Hahsachar staff, are overjoyed to have the privilege to spend time with Mr Kurt Rothschild. Two weeks ago he joined us to visit Kibbutim and Moshavim near Gaza and last Thursday, Mr Rothschild visited Kibbutz Dganya, Kibbutz Ein Harod and later that day, Kibbutz Yad Chanah for Hachnasat Sefer Torah.  During a speech given by Mr Rothschild he mentioned that the social challenge Israeli society is facing today stems from lack of communication between religious and nonreligious people. He farther explained that this can be easily corrected when opportunities are created with meaningful conversations and respect, referring directly to the very core of Ayelet Hashachar. We are proud to have the support and understanding of Mr Rothschild as we work together to better our people.
