Newsletter February  2013

Following Israel's recent strident election campaign, it appeared that strife and division were the order of the day. Yet, at least one incredible show of unity took place between parties on opposite ends of the political spectrum. Mr. Aryeh Siroka, Ayelet Hashachar's managing director, brought together volunteers from the Chareidi-religious "Agudat Yisrael", affectionately known as Gimmel, with activists from the center-left "Yesh Atid" party run by Yair Lapid.  This photo op represents the need for change by both parties yet it stands as a pillar of hope for coexistence and mutual acceptance.

This is Ayelet Hashachar at its best!!!

Ayelet Hashachr had many Tu Be'Shvat celebrations but the celebration in "Nofit" was unique. Over 40 people came to a magical evening of dinning, socializing and a discussion about the seven species.

This event was a great success - Yishar Koach!

Kibbutz "Sdeh Nehemyah" gets a Sefer Taorah with song, dance and cheering crowds. The amazing atmosphere was felt by all who came to celebrate this joyous event. The bonding love of Torah that inspires Ayelet Hashachar to reach-out to new communities time and time again, united every person with his fellow Jew.

Once again we could see and feel that how the Torah is our Jewish glue.

Project in Need:

Purim - Mishloach Manot Project

The Mitzvah of delivering a “Mishloach Manot “is one of the basic Mitzvot of Purim. It is customary to deliver “Mishloch Manot” to family, friends and neighbors. The joy and excitement of opening a “Mishloach Manot” brings sweet memories to all of our hearts. Can you imagine not ever having received a “Mishloach Manot”?

Ayelet Hashachar would like to invite everyone to take part in a unique project and bring the joy of Purim and the Mitzvah of “Mishloach Manot” to life.  Please help us send kibbutz members a “Mishloach Manot”.

The cost is only $26 dollars per “Mishloach Manot” and it includes”Megillat Ester” and all the goodies one would expect to find in a “Mishloach Manot”. You may sponsor as many “Mishloach Manot” baskets as you wish.

To donate please visit our website:http://ayelethashachar.org or reply to this email for more information.

Thank you and Happy Purim!

Kibbutz "Shamir" Celebrates Shabbat Services   Personal Story about Personal election and selection

This past Shabbat Kibbutz "Shamir" started having Shabbat services.

This remarkable growth in spirituality and acceptance is a source of great pride and accomplishment for the members of Kibbutz "Shamir" and Ayelet Hashachar. This new step may be the first of many to come.

May we go from strength to strength.

We just had our elections in Isarel and in Kibbutz "Sdeh Nehemyah" one person voted for "Agudat Yisrael" and no one understood who voted for it. One of the families in favor of building a shul had a discussion on Shabbat about the unknown vote. One of the boys in the family stated he was the one that voted for "Agudat Yisrael" even though he doesn't keep Shabbat or puts on Tefilin. The boy said he wasn't sure about his vote but when he was inside the voting bootthe note for "Agudat Yisrael" with the word Torah, stood out and he felt it was the right choice for him. This story is a wonderful example how Torah touches every soul no matter their background. "Ayelet Hashachar" has a great responsibility to guide, educate and bring Torah to Klal Yisrael.
