Kibbutz Gvar'am is to celebrate the opening of its the newly-established first-ever synagogue this month. Located near Ashkelon in southern Israel, the Kibbutz was established in 1942. Ayelet Hashachar enjoys a wonderful relationship with Gvar'am members, celebrating Jewish holidays together and forming strong friendships.

This coming Motzaei Shabbat (Saturday night), Kibbutz Gvar'am will officially open the doors of its synagogue, and will accompany a Sefer Torah to its new home. A celebration will take place in honor of the event, attended by Kibbutz families and members as well as special dignitaries.

Gvar'am has produced a unique 39-page booklet in honor of Tu B'Shvat - New Year for Trees - which it distributed among the members.
